Custom WordPress Theme Development

Developed a custom WordPress platform where football coaches can discover, create, organize, and schedule exercises, training sessions, and complete training plans. The platform includes membership management, personalized content, interactive coaching tools, and frontend content-submission workflows.

What I did

Developed a custom WordPress theme using PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
Created 7 custom post types, including exercises, training sessions, training plans, news, knowledge-base articles, customer support content, and feature pages.
Built 25 custom taxonomies for filtering content by age, number of players, duration, skills, objectives, field size, coach, category, and training type.
Developed frontend forms that allow coaches to create and edit exercises, training sessions, and training plans without using the WordPress dashboard.
Implemented image and gallery uploads, featured-image handling, video links, custom metadata, and content validation.
Built an interactive training planner that lets users combine exercises into sessions and sessions into complete training plans.
Integrated FullCalendar for scheduling training sessions and plans, including event creation, editing, date changes, and deletion.
Developed AJAX-powered features for favorites, live search, planner management, calendar events, notifications, and content assignment.
Created personalized user functionality, including saved favorites, private content, user-created training material, and individual calendars.
Built a notification system with unread counts, read status, bulk actions, administrator-to-user messages, and automated submission notifications.
Implemented automated HTML email notifications for new and updated content.
Customized MemberPress account, checkout, payment, subscription, password, and thank-you pages.
Added checkout validation and custom terms-and-conditions acceptance for digital subscriptions.
Integrated FacetWP to provide advanced filtering, sorting, searching, and load-more functionality.
Developed a bulk video-import tool supporting YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, and other embeddable sources.
Automated remote thumbnail retrieval, WordPress media-library imports, taxonomy assignment, and featured-image creation for imported videos.
Built interactive coaching utilities, including a stopwatch, countdown timer, round timer, football scoreboard, video player, and calendar.
Created reusable ACF field groups and flexible content modules for administrators to manage page sections, headers, footers, FAQs, reviews, and site settings.
Developed responsive layouts and customized third-party interfaces to match the Voetbalmix visual identity.
Improved frontend performance by conditionally loading assets and deferring non-critical JavaScript.
